Amar Ujala Bureau Delhi: The tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the central government has intensified on the issue of e-20 petrol. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused the central government of imposing e-20 petrol on the people. He said that if the use of e-20 petrol reduces the mileage of a vehicle or damages the engine and other parts, then the responsibility should be fixed. At a press conference at the party headquarters, Kejriwal alleged that the central government is propagating that there is no problem with the use of e-20 petrol even in old vehicles instead of allaying the fears of the people. He claimed that the owner manual of many vehicles advises caution about the use of more than 10% ethanol-blended petrol. Also, if the performance or mileage of the vehicle is adversely affected, then normal petrol should be used. Kejriwal claimed that most of the e-20 vehicles manufactured before 2023 were not compliant and that about 22 crore e-vehicles have been developed in the country without proper preparation.
