Doctors at AIIMS Delhi have given a new lease of life to a 209 kg patient. 32-year-old Vivek had sleep apnea with super-super obesity. Due to this, his breathing was repeatedly stopped. Due to this problem, he had to breathe with the help of CPAP machine every night. In such a situation, the doctors first did a tracheostomy (surgically inserting a breathing tube through a hole in the throat), and then bariatric surgery was done to reduce the weight. Today, in 14 days, Vivek's weight has reduced by about 49 kg to 160 kg. Along with this, the breathing problem has also been removed. Vivek has been discharged from AIIMS. Dr. Manjunath said that this case is of a 32-year-old boy who weighed 209 kg, his BMI was 74 kg / m2. This patient had high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, cholesterol problems, acid reflux reflux, pain in the knees and severe sleep apnea (OSA) at night, which prevented him from sleeping at night.
