Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of deliberately losing the recent by-elections in Bankipur in Bihar and Datia in Madhya Pradesh. He claimed on Wednesday (August 5) that the BJP lost both the by-elections to cheat the public. Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav referred to the BJP's defeat in Bankipur and Datia assembly by-elections during the'Brahmin Sammelan'held at the party headquarters in Lucknow on the birth anniversary of Janeshwar Mishra, a founding member of the Samajwadi Party. He said, "The BJP people lost the by-elections deliberately because they wanted to see if the election could be won without foul play. The BJP did not adopt the model in Bankipur and Datia, which it had adopted in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. They lost the by-elections to cheat the public. These people are discussing that now the opposition people will not talk about the EVM." Yadav quipped, "After losing the Bankipur by-election, the people of the BJP are sitting in the laddoo (laddoo) with their party colleagues. They are also eating laddoos.
