Andy Burnham Set to Become Labour Party Leader and Potential UK Prime Minister

According to the programme set out by the Labour National Executive Committee (NEC), candidates have until 15 July to gather the support of at least 81 MPs to stand as candidates in the election. However, Burnham, 56, is the only candidate in the race, so the process is only a formality. He is likely to become Labour's new leader and the UK's prime minister by 20 July.
