Assam Police Raid Congress Leader's Residence Amid Controversy Over Chief Minister's Wife

New Delhi: Political heat is at its peak in Assam. On Tuesday, a huge contingent of Assam Police and Delhi Police rushed to Congress leader Pawan Kheda's residence in Delhi. However, Pawan Kheda was not found present in the house during the police investigation. In this case, Chief Minister Himanta Sarma has claimed that the leaders who were talking about arrest till yesterday have fled to Hyderabad after seeing the police. What is the whole controversy? On Sunday, Congress held press conferences in Delhi and Guwahati and made sensational allegations against Himanta Sarma's wife. Pawan Kheda and Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi claimed that the Chief Minister's wife has passports from UAE, Egypt and Antigua-Barbuda. There were also allegations of property in Dubai and their company in Wyoming, USA. Himanta Sarma's counter-attack and police action: Rejecting these allegations, Chief Minister Himanta Sarma said that Congress has presented fake documents obtained from social media groups linked to Pakistan.
