A new controversy has emerged between the diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh. Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, Principal Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, claimed that he was initially denied entry at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. He then decided to cancel his visit to India and return to Bangladesh to lodge a protest. According to the state news agency BSS, Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman arrived in New Delhi on Sunday. His name was flagged during a routine security check at the airport, after which he was stopped. He was told that he had to wait at the airport for about two and a half hours. On Tuesday in Dhaka, Rahman said, "I felt that there was a need to protest immediately." He alleged that the Bangladeshi authorities had informed the Indian side of his official visit beforehand. Despite this, he was not given early entry. Rahman said that a clear message should go to the international level on this incident. He said, "This is not a reference to the Sheikh Hasina government." Rahman's political statement is also being seen by senior Indian officials in the current circumstances.
