Bangladesh PM's First Foreign Trip: A Journey to China?

Dhaka: As Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman prepares for his first foreign trip, questions are being raised as to which one he will choose as his first foreign trip: India, China or the US. According to reports, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and BIDA Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury are making hectic efforts to take Tarique Rahman to China in June. Ashiq Chowdhury has even arranged to hire a Chinese event management company so that a BIDA office can be opened in Guangzhou quickly and Tariq Rahman is present there for its inauguration. Ashiq Chowdhury has also held big meetings for investment in three provinces of China. Ashiq Chowdhury has not achieved anything. The stagnation in Chinese investment over the past two years has not yet been overcome. Last month, several parties associated with the BNP visited China, followed by Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of the BNP, and Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general secretary of the BNP administration.
