Bangladesh Summons Indian Ambassador Over Advisor's Airport Incident

The Bangladesh government has summoned the Indian ambassador to lodge its protest after an incident at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in the capital. In fact, a diplomatic row has arisen after Dr. Zahid Ur Rahman, a close advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman, was prevented from entering by Indian immigration authorities. Zahid Ur Rahman came to Delhi to attend a meeting of senior officials of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). In this case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh has summoned India's Acting High Commissioner Pawan Badhe. Recently Zahid Ur Rahman arrived at the New Delhi airport to attend an important meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), he was stopped during the security check. It is reported that he faced this delay because his name was on a'watchlist '. Indian officials interrogated him for about two and a half hours. Indian officials allowed Zahid to return to Bangladesh instead of attending the meeting.
