Bank of America Spends Billions on Obesity-Treating Drugs for Employees

Every company insures the health of their employees working with them. Not only employees, but insurance is provided for the whole family. According to CNBC, Bank of America, the largest bank in America, is spending more than $250 million (about Rs. 2357 crore) every year on obesity-reducing GLP-1 drugs (such as Ozempic and Wegovy) for its employees. The bank's CEO Brian Moynihan himself has said this to CNBC. Four or five years ago, the company had no spending on this, but now it has become about 13% of the total spending on the health of its employees. Bank of America spends more than $2 billion every year on the health of its about 2.1 million employees. The company says that these drugs not only improve the health of its employees, but also make the bank see its own health coaching.
