Baramati: Polling for the Baramati Assembly constituency, which fell vacant after the death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is being held today (December 23). Sunetra Pawar has entered the fray as the candidate of the Grand Alliance in this election. A total of 23 candidates, including her, are contesting the election. Although there is no strong candidate from the main opposition party, this election is likely to be a one-sided election. With the support of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, NCP is preparing to give a record majority to Sunetra Pawar. Ministers, MLAs, office bearers and workers from all over the state are camping in Baramati and have been mobilized for the campaign. Since this is the first election in the absence of Ajit Pawar in the political history of Baramati, the atmosphere has become emotional. After Ajit Pawar, his sons Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar have taken the reins of the campaign. Also, MLA Rohit Pawar of the Sharad Pawar group, MP Supriya Sule have also appealed to the voters to actively participate in the campaign. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Fadnavis have also indicated their full support in the by-election.
