Bengal BJP in Crisis as Workers Protest Against Candidate Selection

Nowadays, there is no end to the discomfort in the Bengal BJP. Since the announcement of the candidate list, there has been a fire of resentment within the party. This time, the candidate of Krishnanagar Uttar assembly constituency Tarak Chattopadhyay is in front of the state BJP office in Sector 5, Salt Lake. Angry BJP workers and supporters from Krishnanagar gathered there on Sunday night and staged a strong protest demanding a change of candidate. The agitating workers directly allege that the district president of Krishnanagar Uttar, Arjun Biswas, has nominated a person like Tarak Chattopadhyay for a large amount of money. The workers claim that there is evidence of corruption against Tarak Chattopadhyay in the last Lok Sabha elections, so such a candidate will not be accepted in any way. The anger is so much that the workers have made it clear that if the candidate is not changed, then 4 pradhans, 4 mandal presidents, and about 100 to 150 active workers at the district level will resign. Though the candidates in the fray are decided by the leaders of Delhi, the rebellion of the workers in the field has now broken the Bengal BJP leadership.
