Bengal Government Sanctions ₹62.55 Crore for Election Duty Police Personnel

The new BJP government in Bengal has taken a major decision for the police personnel who were on duty in the assembly elections held in the state a few months ago. The state government has sanctioned an additional amount of ₹62,55,90,650 for this. A notification in this regard has been issued by the state home and hill affairs department. As per the notification, ₹233,129 thousand will be given as honorarium to the police personnel who perform various election duties including sector, naka, quick response team, flying squad, static surveillance team outside their workplace. In addition, ₹2,956 thousand will be given to the police personnel who perform duties in various election cells of the police. The officers of the level of director general of police (DGP) and inspector general of police (IG) to police commissioner, deputy inspector general of police, superintendent of police and additional superintendent of police have also been covered under the honorarium. The amount of honorarium has also been allocated to the reserve officers of police stations and transport officers of the level of 300 deputy superintendents of police, sub-divisional officers and 416 assistant police officers.
