Bihar Assembly Election 2025: Political Parties Spend Hefty Amounts on Campaigning and Leader Visits

In the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, political parties raised a total of 281.32 crores. Of this, 193.47 crores were spent on campaigning and visits of leaders. According to one report, parties spent the highest amount of about 100 crores only on their publicity. Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was the only party that did not announce any donation during the election. News agency PTI quoted ADR, an organisation working for electoral reforms. Parties did not only spend money on advertisements and rallies, but also distributed 7 crores directly to their candidates during the election.
