The Education Department has taken a major decision regarding the timetable of government schools in Bihar. The Directorate of Secondary Education has issued an official order and re-implemented the half-day system in schools on Saturday. According to the letter (Memorandum: 1409, dated: 06/08/2026) issued by Director (Secondary Education) Sajjan R., a partial amendment has been made in the old order of 12 December 2025, under which there was a rule to run schools from 9: 30 am to 4: 00 pm from Monday to Saturday. Classes and activities will be conducted from 9: 30 am to 4: 00 pm from Monday to Friday. Saturday (Half-day): Schools will be opened only from 9: 30 am to 1: 00 pm. For classes 1 to 8: Pre-decided activities and classes on Saturday will be held till 12:00 pm. Mid-day meal (PM POSHAN) timings: 12:00 12:40 Midday meal and activities will be given to secondary school students from 9: 00 pm to 12: 00 pm.
