A major change has been made in the timetable of government schools in Bihar. The Secondary Education Office of the Education Department has implemented the system of'Half-Day'( half-day study) on Saturday, partially revising the operating time of all government schools in the state. An order in this regard has been issued today (Thursday) with the signature of the Director of Secondary Education Sajjan R. According to the letter issued by the department, the previous order issued on 12 December 2025 has been amended. Under the new rule, schools will now operate from Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 4 pm as before, while classes will run from 9.30 am to 1 pm on Saturday. Primary and middle schools (classes 1 to 8) will have classes and pre-scheduled activities from 9.30 am to 12 noon on Saturday. After this, children will be given Mid-Day Meal from 12 am to 12:40, immediately after which students will be given leave.
