Bihar Panchayat Elections: New Reservation Roster Implemented Amid Preparations

Panchayat elections are to be held in Bihar and preparations have started for it. Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash gave a lot of updates about the preparations for the elections in a media interaction on Monday (June 20, 2026). He made it clear that the new roster of reservation will be implemented this time. Minister Deepak Prakash said, "All the preparations for the panchayat elections are going on under the direction of the State Election Commission. The population has been published everywhere. After this, the work will be done under the direction of the Election Commission for the formation of the roster. Preparation for the maintenance of EVMs or whatever other preparations are being done under the direction of the Election Commission. In response to a question, Deepak Prakash said that whatever work is going to be done is being done under the direction of the Election Commission. The roster of reservation has been implemented for 10 years. This time the new roster of reservation will be implemented. The rest of the people related to the elections will be done at the right time. If the election was completed in December 2021, then the work of the election will be done in a fair manner.
