Bihar's Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Share Brief Moment Amidst Oath-Taking Ceremony

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav arrived at the same event on Thursday (May 21, 2026). There was an opportunity for newly elected RJD candidate from Bhojpur-Buxar Local Authorities Constituency Sonu Kumar Rai to take oath. Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council Awadhesh Narayan Singh administered the oath to Sonu Kumar Rai. During this, when Samrat and Tejashwi came face to face, it was a sight to behold. Samrat Chaudhary and Tejashwi talked for a few seconds. Tejashwi Yadav first bowed to Samrat Chaudhary with folded hands. Then both the leaders shook hands with each other. Tejashwi congratulated Samrat Chaudhary. All this happened during the end of the program. Tejashwi told the media that we were in the same party earlier. However, when Tejashwi Yadav and Samrat Chaudhary were sitting on the chair during the oath-taking ceremony, there were talks between the two leaders. After the oath-taking ceremony, Tejashwi Yadav, Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council Awadhesh Narayan Singh, said that Sonu Kumar had said that if we had won the first ballot paper before the first election, then we would have won the election.
