Bihar's Health Department Develops AI-Based Software to Improve Healthcare Services

Preparations are underway to further improve the health services in Bihar through technology. Health Minister Nishant Kumar said that the department is developing such AI-based software, which will easily provide information about the available beds and doctors in different hospitals of the state. The purpose is to reach the patients to the right hospital on time and reduce the delay in treatment. Through the new system, the availability of ICU, ward and general beds can be ascertained. For example, if a patient is referred from a district hospital to a medical college or a big hospital, doctors will be able to see whether the bed is vacant there or not. If there is no space in one institution, then the option of another hospital will also be available. The health minister said that the department is preparing many software for different needs. The system is being developed to collect and monitor the available resources in health institutions through AI. This will relieve the patients from the problem of wandering around during referral.
