Bikaner Municipal Corporation Mayoral Election Sees Surge of New Contenders

The mayoral post of the Bikaner Municipal Corporation was the most talked about. This time, the mayoral post has been kept open for the general category. This has opened up avenues for many new contenders. Former corporators and politically active faces have also started preparing to enter the electoral fray again. Out of the total 270 wards in the district, 39 wards have been reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 54 wards for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and 177 wards for the general category. No ward has been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category this time. A total of 76 wards are reserved for women. In terms of the number of wards, there are 80 in Bikaner Municipal Corporation, 45 in Nokha, 40 in Sridungargarh, 35 in Lunkaransar, 25-25 in Deshnok and Napasar and 20 in Khajuwala. The lottery for the posts of civic chiefs has already been released. According to this, the mayoral post in Bikaner Municipal Corporation will be open for the general category.
