BJP Brainstorms Election Strategy Ahead of Panchayat and Municipal Elections in Rajasthan

Politics in southern Rajasthan is heating up ahead of the upcoming panchayat and municipal elections in Rajasthan. At a key BJP meeting in Sagwara in Dungarpur district, election strategy was brainstormed. The Congress and the opposition were targeted on the issue of student agitation and defections. It is clear from the statements of the leaders after the meeting that the blame game has started intensifying before the elections. At a meeting held on Sunday (July 26) at the BJP office in Sagwara assembly constituency of Dungarpur district, organisational strategy was made for preparations for the upcoming panchayat elections and municipal elections. The meeting discussed in detail about strengthening the organisation up to the booth level, fixing responsibilities of workers, and election preparations. Former MP Kanakmal Katara attacked the opposition over the student movement at Jantar Mantar, saying, "Some political news and religious organizations tried to take political advantage of the movement by ignoring the genuine demands of the students. Students have been cheated and misled." Shankar Lal MLA claimed that only two Congress workers have joined the BJP in Sagwara area of Dungarpur.
