BJP Candidate Withdraws from Rajkot Municipal Corporation Elections Amid Poor Survey Results

Rajkot: As many as 1,100 BJP candidates are in the fray for the Rajkot Municipal Corporation elections. Gautam Goswami, a strong contender from Ward No. 17, has suddenly decided not to contest. A private survey has shown that this ward is difficult for the BJP, due to which there is talk that he has withdrawn before filing his nomination. His decision may affect the party in other wards as well. Although he has assured the party that he will help the four candidates who will be fielded in this ward to win. A private survey of Akila's eighteen wards has reported that the BJP's position in Ward No. 17 is weak and the area may prove to be a danger zone for the BJP.
