Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Abhishek Sinha'Bunty'has withdrawn his nomination from the election. He wrote a letter to state president Sanjay Saraogi in this regard. In his letter, Abhishek Sinha has expressed his inability to contest the election citing family reasons. Significantly, he had filed his nomination papers a day before. However, no official statement has been issued by the BJP so far on the decision to withdraw the nomination. Abhishek Kumar Sinha said,'Due to family reasons, I am unable to contest the assembly by-election. I will continue to perform my responsibilities as a dedicated worker of the party as before.'He said,'I have just submitted a letter to state president Sanjay Saraogi, which I am now reading in front of all of you. The Bharatiya Janata Party had selected me as the NDA candidate in the Bankipur assembly by-election. For this, I express my gratitude to the central and state leadership of the party. I humbly inform you that I am unable to contest the assembly by-election as a loyal worker of the party.
