BJP Leader Files Complaint Against TMC's Abhishek Banerjee Over Alleged Murderous Attack

A complaint has been filed against Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee by his former electoral rival and senior BJP leader Abhijit Das at Diamond Harbour police station. He has requested the police to register an FIR on the basis of his complaint and conduct a detailed investigation into the matter afresh. Abhijit Das, in his complaint, has alleged that a pre-planned murderous attack on him took place on 21 December 2018. He says that soon after the incident, he had submitted a complaint to the police along with medical reports, photographs and other necessary documents, but no concrete progress was made in the investigation. He also said that due to inaction in the case, in the year 2023, he had sought information from the concerned authorities about the status of the investigation. Now he has again raised the demand for an impartial investigation into the whole matter. Abhijit Das has contested against Abhishek Banerjee from Diamond Harbour seat on BJP ticket in 2014 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Abhijit Das has contested against TMC on BJP ticket in 2014 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, however, he did not get success.
