The BJP has nominated national general secretary Tarun Chugh and state secretary Rajneesh Agarwal for the biennial election process to the Rajya Sabha, while the Congress has announced the candidature of former MP Meenakshi Natarajan. The Congress has nominated a female face after a long time from this seat being vacated by Digvijaya Singh.
