BJP MLA Opposes Toll Hike on Yamuna Expressway Citing Economic and Geopolitical Challenges

Greater Noida: The proposed toll hike on Yamuna Expressway has now started raising questions from political and public representatives. BJP MLA from Jewar, Dhirendra Singh, has written to the Chief Minister and CEO of Yamuna Authority, expressing concern over the proposed increase in toll charges. The MLA says that the toll hike may put additional burden on millions of passengers, farmers, students, and traders at a time when the country and the world are currently going through economic and geopolitical challenges. Earlier, the MLA has also raised issues like expensive air tickets from Noida International Airport and farmers'compensation. In his letter to the Chief Minister and CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Dhirendra Singh has written to the Chief Minister and CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), demanding a reconsideration of the proposed toll hike. In the letter, he said that the economic and geopolitical instability is prevailing at the global level in the current times. He wrote that the rising tensions in West Asia and the rise in international crude oil prices will have a direct impact on the economy of India.
