On Tuesday, local BJP MLA Surendra Singh Gaharwar reached the office of the Public Works Department (PWD) and in front of Chief Engineer Pankaj Khadare, expressed his displeasure over the working of the department officials. During the meeting, the MLA said that the condition of road construction in the area is so pathetic that it seems as if "MLA ji dies or completes 5 years, then the work will be done." In fact, MLA Gaharwar made serious allegations before the Chief Engineer that in the last four years, roads have been sanctioned for Chitrakoot Assembly constituency at a cost of about 1100 crore rupees, but the roads have started crumbling and deteriorating after some time of construction. He alleged that the work of many roads is shown as complete on paper, but no construction work is seen at the ground level. This is exposing the seriousness of the quality of construction and the monitoring of the roads. He also raised allegations against the area PWD officer in-charge Ashwani Nigam.
