In Karnataka, a BJP MLA's daughter slapped a woman police officer. The incident dates back to August 12, when Bhima Amavasya was being celebrated at the Aarti Ukkada temple in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district. On August 12, at 8.15 pm, the two allegedly got into an argument over something. Aishwarya, daughter of MLA B. Suresh Gowda, misbehaved with the woman police officer posted at the temple and slapped her. B. Suresh Gowda has been elected as an MLA on a BJP ticket from Tumakuru Rural. After the altercation, the MLA has apologised, but he has put the blame squarely on the woman police officer. The victim's police officer is Savita Patil. She is a sub-inspector posted at Mandya Women's Police Station. She was on special security duty at the temple in view of the event at the temple. Allegedly, when the MLA's daughter Aishwarya reached the temple for darshan, she objected to the delay in going inside. Suresh Gowda said, "My daughter got permission from the police inspector, but my daughter was not allowed inside the temple."
