Rajkot, Dt. 9: BJP candidate selection process for 36 Zila Panchayat seats is nearing completion. Announcement is scheduled to be made by tonight. More than 60 per cent new faces have been selected. A total of 4 seats including 1 from Kudva, Navagam-Anandapar, Sardhar and Jasdan pattan of Rajkot taluka are being contested till the last minute. Arjun Khatriya, who won 4 terms from Congress in Kotdasangani seat, is considered to be independent, but the BJP has not applied the criterion of no ticket for 3 terms. Arjun Khatriya's name did not get final approval in this meeting. Among the previous term members of the Panchayat, many refused to contest. Amukha has been dropped due to new rotation. Amukha has not been selected by the party this time. Not more than three, out of the 30 candidates who want to contest the elections, etc., have been elected by the BJP.
