The Punjab Disciplinary Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party has issued show-cause notices to three leaders. It has asked the leaders why disciplinary action should not be taken against them. The official letter dated 27 August 2026, issued by Som Parkash, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and former Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, states that the leaders, along with two other party workers, made such comments with regard to internal affairs and organisational issues which violate the established ideology of the party. The notice states that it has come to the notice of the BJP, Punjab Disciplinary Committee, that you along with two other party workers, attended a press conference / disciplinary conference of the party on 25 August and made such statements related to the party's internal affairs and internal party policies.
