BJP Slams Congress Over Former VP's Remarks on Hindu Nationalism

The BJP today slammed the Congress over a recent remark by former Vice President Hamid Ansari. Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that Mr Ansari had quoted a book written in 2019, which states that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru considered Hindu nationalism a greater threat than communism. Mr Trivedi alleged that the Congress today has moved towards the left and is deeply influenced by communist ideology. He added that the former Vice President’s remarks reflect the mindset of the Congress.
