BJP Sweeps Gujarat Civic Polls, AAP Surprises in Tribal-Dominated Areas

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again decimated the opposition in the Gujarat civic polls. From urban to rural areas, the lotus is everywhere. While the Congress is once again out of the contest, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not been able to make a mark, but Arvind Kejriwal's broom in the villages of the tribal-dominated Narmada district has certainly surprised. However, it is being credited to the personal influence of tribal leader and AAP MLA Chaitra Vasava. In the area dominated by Dediapada MLA Chaitra Vasava, the AAP has won the district panchayat where the BJP government built the world's tallest statue. On the one hand, where the BJP government claims that the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's'Statue of Unity'has led to socioeconomic change, the public is showing a different attitude in the local elections. Compared to the defeat of the BJP in the Statue of Unity Narmada, the defeat in Ayodhya is also being compared to the defeat of the Ram temple, where the party also won four Lok Sabha seats in the district panchayat elections.
