BJP Wins Landslide Victory in Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Elections, Defeats Ruling Congress

In Himachal Pradesh, the BJP has won a landslide victory in four municipal corporation elections and a crushing defeat for the ruling Congress. The BJP has won 3 out of 4 seats. The ruling Congress has won only in Palampur. In the May 2021 elections, the Congress won 3 municipal corporations. Then-politicians point out that the Sukhu government did not stand the test of popularity. The results of the municipal corporation are not a good sign for the Congress before the December 2027 assembly elections. These elections were considered the semi-final of power. But the Congress has lost in the semi-final. The biggest blow to the Congress has been in Solan and Dharamshala, where the Congress won in both places in 2021. The results of Palampur are a relief for the Congress. But the Congress has suffered a setback in Mandi, Dharamshala and Solan. In these elections, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu himself took the front. In these elections, he campaigned in all the four municipal corporations. In Mandi, he directly communicated with the public.
