BJP Workers Protest Against Candidate in Hooghly

Milton Sen, Hooghly: Party workers don't want an outsider candidate. In Champdani, Hooghly, infighting over the BJP candidate is out in the open. Banners of anger over the candidate have been put up at various places. It reads, "Outsider candidate, Dilip Singh. I don't accept Dilip Singh." Another protest at the Salt Lake office has been called by BJP workers. Mamata tearing Modi-Shah apart. On one hand, BJP workers gheraoed the Hooghly district BJP office, unable to accept BJP candidate Sumana Sarkar from Balagarh. On the other hand, BJP workers of Champdani assembly constituency in Sreerampur organisational district are angry over the BJP candidate Dilip Singh. Local residents have also seen a scuffle between two groups of BJP workers over flex banners being put up against the candidate. Dilip Singh has also been given a ticket in Champdani assembly constituency. In 2021, he was defeated by TMC candidate Arindam Guin. However, Dilip Singh has not started campaigning for the BJP candidate. On the other hand, BJP workers have started chanting slogans against Dilip Singh.
