BJP's Electoral Performance Improves After Lok Sabha Setback

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP's seats fell from 303 to 240. The NDA had to rely on allies, especially the TDP and the JDU, for a clear majority. The opposition had criticized the BJP for this, claiming that the government would not last long. However, the situation changed with the NDA in the assembly elections. The BJP won a landslide victory in Haryana. The strength of the NDA in Maharashtra has increased from 150 to 237 MLAs, while in Bihar it has increased from 125 to 202. The NDA's influence is also seen increasing in West Bengal. The NDA is likely to gain weight in the presidential electoral college.
