BJP's K. Annamalai Quits Party, Launches New Political Front in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, former BJP president K. Annamalai has quit the party and launched his new political front. Many people were saying that his new party is actually the "B team" of the BJP and that he has the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. But the Tamil Nadu BJP made it clear on Saturday that this is not the case at all. Annamalai announced on Friday that he is leaving the party "with honour" and wants to start a new kind of politics. He said, "The goals are bigger and to take more people along. A new path, a new movement, a new political force will start from today." He also said that his new party will contest in the next assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Before leaving the party, he went to Delhi and met many big leaders of the BJP, including Amit Shah. These speculations were denied by the new Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran on Saturday.
