BJP's Nitin Navin Visits Punjab Ahead of Assembly Elections, Eyes Solo Contest

In the run-up to the Punjab Assembly elections, the BJP is gearing up to strengthen its organisation and sharpen its poll strategy. BJP national president Nitin Navin is on a 3-day visit to Punjab from Saturday (June 20). This will be his first visit to Punjab after becoming the national president, so the party organization considers it very important. BJP leaders say that this visit will work to infuse new energy in the workers in view of the upcoming assembly elections. Significantly, the party has already made it clear that it is preparing to contest the Punjab assembly elections on its own. Recently in Delhi, Punjab BJP leaders had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and national president Nitin Navin. According to sources, in this meeting, a clear message was given to the state leaders that the party is moving towards contesting the upcoming assembly elections alone. Earlier on March 14, at a BJP rally in Moga, Amit Shah had also said that the BJP will no longer play the role of a younger brother in Punjab, but will aim to form a government with the Akali Dal.
