Bhubaneswar: A Booth Level Officer (BLO) was allegedly attacked during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) activity in Bhubaneswar Central Assembly constituency today. The BLO, how is identified as Ajodhya Narayan Mohanty, alleged that he was conducting the SIR activities at booth no. 103 of ward number 35 of the Assembly constituency. However, he was allegedly beaten up and abused by a group of persons. Mohanty claimed that some supporters of a particular political party were involved in the incident who also allegedly snatched his identity card and documents related to SIR activities. Following the attack, the Booth Level Officer informed the concerned election officer about the unfortunate incident and later lodged a complaint at the Kharavel Nagar police station seeking action an impartial probe into the incident and appropriate action against the accused persons. Meanwhile, the alleged attack on BLO has created a new controversy over the electoral process in the state.
