Police have arrested both the accused on the basis of bank account investigation. The deceased has been identified as Laxman, a resident of Srinagar, Metagalli, Mysore City. According to the police, the accused is Sunil, an auto driver. He along with his brother Praveen had conspired to rob and murder the businessman. The duo transferred Rs 50,000 from the businessman's account to his deceased brother Sushil's bank account and Rs 40,000 to his wife's account through Google Pay. The same transaction later turned out to be evidence for them. The advertiser's son Ganesh said that his father had reached Amritsar on July 18 to buy a machine in Batala. From there, he came to Pathankot to meet an acquaintance. After reaching Amritsar, the phone was switched off. The bank account information revealed online money transfer. The family then approached Pathankot police with the help of a Karnataka minister and lodged a missing complaint. The body was found in the canal on July 19.
