Calcutta High Court Grants Relief to Trinamool Congress Leader Abhishek Banerjee

Trinamool Congress leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee has got relief in the case of objectionable remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Calcutta High Court has directed the police not to take any action against him for now. However, the court has expressed displeasure over his remarks. Abhishek has got relief from the High Court regarding the "Godfather of Delhi" remark. Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, cannot leave India. Abhishek cannot leave the country without the court's permission. The High Court has directed Banerjee to appear in person within 48 hours of receiving the notice. Justice Saugato Bhattacharya of the Calcutta High Court has issued the order. Banerjee had filed a petition to quash the FIR against her. Amit Shah's provocative speech during the Bengal Assembly election campaign in her name was also a threat to her life.
