Calcutta High Court Refuses Relief to Mamata Banerjee, Ritabrata Banerjee Remains Leader of Opposition

The tussle for the post of Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly continues. The Calcutta High Court has given a big blow to Mamata Banerjee. The High Court has not given any immediate relief to TMC's petition. The High Court has refused to stay the LoP appointment for the time being. That is, Ritabrata Banerjee will remain the Leader of Opposition. There is a Bharatiya Janata Party government in West Bengal at the moment. TMC has gone out of power. The party that is in power in the Assembly is headed by the Chief Minister. But the Opposition also has a leader, who is called the Leader of Opposition. There has been a dispute about this post.
