Calcutta High Court Stays Demolition Drive in Tapasya Amid Allegations of Targeting Minority Communities

The Calcutta High Court has stayed the demolition drive in Tapasya. CPI (M) state committee member Satarup Ghosh, CPI (M) leader Dipu Das and other party leaders arrived at the Tapasya site on Friday afternoon with a copy of the court's verdict. They handed over the copy of the verdict to the general public and asked them to show the copy if the administration had done wrong. The BJP government in the state wants to take away the security and shelter of the minority community people by launching an overnight bulldozer in the name of illegal construction in Tapasya in Tiljala police station area. The Kalakata High Court made it clear that houses cannot be demolished on Tuesday on the orders of the administration without giving them any legal notice.
