Campaigning Ends in Himachal Pradesh's Municipal Elections

On the last day of campaigning, Congress-BJP leaders and contesting candidates sweated it out for the municipal elections. Now candidates will be able to campaign door-to-door. Polling for 51 urban bodies, including four municipal corporations, in Himachal will be held by pressing the EVM button from 7 am to 3 pm on May 17. Municipal Corporation results will be out on May 31. 589 polling stations have been set up for the elections. One police personnel and Home Guard personnel each will be deployed at the polling station. The State Election Commission will send polling parties with the last training and EVM on Saturday. Polling stations will be set up on May 16.
