Candidates File Nominations for Zila Parishad Members in Chamba

Chamba: On the pretext of filing nominations for Zila Parishad members, candidates also demonstrated their strength. Candidates along with their supporters reached the SDM office premises in large numbers. Raj Singh Thakur from Karian Zila Parishad ward filed his nomination at 11:30 am. He was accompanied by a large number of supporters. Supporters also shouted slogans for his victory. Similarly, Vijay Kumar, Liaqat Khan, CL Thakur from Sarol Zila Parishad ward filed their nomination papers. They were also accompanied by a large number of supporters. Raj Singh, the candidate who filed his nomination from Karian Zila Parishad, has been declared by the BJP as its supported candidate. He has also been a BDC chairman and ZIP vice-president before. In 2012, he also contested as an independent candidate to become MLA from Chamba Sadar. In Sarol ward, the BJP has not fielded any candidate. However, BJP district secretary CL Thakur and BJYM president Sahil Bedi are in the fray.
