Chandigarh Police Under Scanner for Releasing Friend of Son Who Killed Head Constable

Chandigarh Police has come under the scanner in the murder of head constable Nitin. Karan, a friend of his son Armaan who killed Nitin, has been let off despite a country-made pistol being recovered from him. Karan, along with Armaan, had come to Chandigarh from Haridwar with two country-made pistols. One of the pistols was with Armaan, with which he had shot dead his father Nitin, while the other was with Karan. Karan had information about the second pistol in his possession during the interrogation of Armaan during the investigation of the murder. After this, an employee posted at Sector-31 police station caught Karan and recovered the country-made pistol from him, but it is alleged that he was let off after the alleged setting. Now the same Karan has been arrested by the Operation Cell in the case of the firing outside Industrial Area Phase-1 Blinkit on 29 October. After his arrest, questions are being raised about his earlier release and the role of the concerned police personnel in the murder of Nitin. The biggest question is that when Armaan had brought the two pistols with Karan to Haridwar for interrogation, Karan had also recovered the information about the role of Karan in the murder.
