Chhatra Assembly Seat: A Key Battleground in Mathura Lok Sabha and District

The assembly number of Chhatra seat is 81. Chhatra is part of both Mathura Lok Sabha and district. Chaudhary Laxminarayan from Chhatra is a sitting MLA from BJP and is also a minister in the Yogi government. Laxminarayan has also been in BSP and Congress. Laxminarayan has been in BJP since 2017 and became an MLA from BJP in 2017 and 2022. Chhatra assembly seat has been won by BJP, RLD and BSP elections. Congress last won the Chhatra assembly seat in 1996. Samajwadi Party has not won a single election in Chhatra so far. Chhatra assembly seat is Jat and Thakur dominated assembly seat. Chhatra assembly seat has equal number of votes of both Jat and Thakur community. Chhatra assembly seat has 3,29,695 votes left after SIR in 2026.
