Chief Minister Sai said that the visionary, decisive and people-friendly leadership of the Prime Minister has given a new impetus to the development of Chhattisgarh. The central government's policy of giving priority to security and development in Naxal-affected areas has resulted in Chhattisgarh receiving assistance of ₹2, 080.29 crore under the Special Central Assistance (SCA) scheme. Initiatives such as the Special Infrastructure Scheme (SIS), Security Related Expenditure (SRE), availability of modern weapons, jungle warfare training and air support have strengthened the security forces and given the state a decisive edge against Naxalism. The Union Rural Development Ministry has sanctioned 391 roads of 3,222 km and 88 major bridges in Naxal-affected areas at a cost of ₹2,377 crore. These projects have strengthened both development and security in remote areas, including Bastar, with an unprecedented 42% financial boost from the Prime Minister's financial leadership to the Chhattisgarh Autonomous Region.
