China Intervenes in Middle East Crisis, Urges Restraint from US and Israel

Beijing: The current situation in West Asia has become extremely explosive, especially when Iran has launched a counter-offensive after the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Amid this grave crisis, China has broken its silence and strongly urged the US and Israel to exercise restraint and immediately stop military actions. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning has made it clear that if this conflict goes out of control, its impact will not be limited to Iran, but will engulf the entire neighboring countries and the global economy. China's tone suggests that it no longer wants to be a mere spectator in this region. On the other hand, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has taken a strategic step forward. He has directly communicated with the Foreign Minister of Oman and appealed to the Gulf countries to strengthen mutual solidarity instead of depending on'external forces'for their security. China believes that the Middle-East countries should take their future into their own hands. China has intervened in the two military bases in the Gulf States at the time of the Third World War.
