Congress Appoints New State President and Working President in Uttar Pradesh

Amid the ongoing discussions regarding organisational changes in the Uttar Pradesh Congress, the party has now appointed a new state president and working president. Congress has appointed Rampur Khas MLA and CLP leader Aradhana Mishra as the new president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee. Congress MP from Saharanpur Imran Masood has been made the working president of the party. With both appointments, the talks of organisational changes in the UP Congress have now been put to rest. Earlier, there was speculation of a major change in the Uttar Pradesh Congress. There was talk of removing the current state president Ajay Rai. Now Aradhana Mishra has been given the command of the state Congress, while Imran Masood has been given the responsibility of working president. Aradhana Mishra, also known as Mona, is a three-time MLA from Rampur Khas and leader of the Congress Legislative Party. She is the daughter of senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari. Aradhana Mishra has been active in politics for more than two decades. She has held the Rampur seat for 47 years. She has been a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly for nine consecutive terms. She has been a member of the Rajya Sabha from the Rampur Pratap Tiwari family.
