Congress Criticizes Election Commission Over Machine-Readable Electoral Rolls

The Congress has hit out at the CEC after the poll panel's latest announcement of providing machine-readable electoral rolls to political parties. Citing Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's demand for machine-readable electoral rolls for two years, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged that Gyanesh Kumar was not accepting this demand for stealing votes. In a statement issued on X on Sunday, Jairam Ramesh said that for the last two years, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party had been demanding the Election Commission to make the electoral rolls available to all political parties in such a digital format.
