Congress Demands Probe into Ram Mandir Trust Controversy, Accuses Centre and BJP of Undemocratic Actions

He said that the public has the right to know who is responsible for the Ram Mandir Trust and the matters related to it. Therefore, the whole episode should be investigated impartially and the truth should be brought to the fore. Speaking at the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan's call for Save Democracy Satyagraha in the capital Bhopal on Thursday, the Congress described the issue as a fight for democracy and the Constitution beyond a Rajya Sabha seat. The Satyagraha was attended by a large number of Congress workers, including senior Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, National President of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan Sunil Pawar. At the sit-in in front of Jawahar Bhawan at Roshanpura Square, Congress leaders attacked the Centre and the BJP for the cancellation of nominations as against democratic values. Addressing the Ad Satyagraha, Meenakshi Natarajan said that the matter is not limited to one Rajya Sabha seat. She alleged that attempts are being made to take the country towards One Nation, One Party and a campaign is being run to weaken the opposition parties.
