The Satyagraha was attended by a large number of Congress workers, including senior Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, National President of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan Sunil Pawar. At the sit-in in front of Jawahar Bhawan at Roshanpura Square, Congress leaders attacked the Centre and the BJP for the cancellation of nominations as against democratic values. Addressing the Ad Satyagraha, Meenakshi Natarajan said that the matter is not limited to one Rajya Sabha seat. She alleged that attempts are being made to take the country towards One Nation, One Party and a campaign is being run to weaken the opposition parties.
